Nib Health Funds (nib Group) is an Australian private healthcare fund and shareholder who have recently seen an opportunity to further develop its capabilities by entering into the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme). Nib Group bought out an existing NDIS Plan Manager (PM) called Maple Plan – Australia’s seventh largest NDIS Plan Management provider.
As a private health insurer, nib believes it can positively contribute to the success of the NDIS and further improve the outcomes for participants. Nib has raised $150M to buy out other PMs to increase their market share.
Business News Australia recently announced that the expenditure in the NDIS sector is forecasted to grow from $29 billion in FY22 to $59 billion by FY30. The NDIS currently supports more than half a million Australians, transforming the lives of people with different abilities and supporting family members and carers who play a significant role in participant lives.
